My name is Markus Savaglio. I’m Running for City Council in Sheboygan’s second district.
Why I’m Running:
When my wife and I made the decision to move from district 5 to the north side of the city it was because we needed more space for our growing family and we couldn’t find the right home in the 5th district after searching for over 4 months. I was disappointed that this decision required me to step down as alderperson, but my family’s needs have to come first. Now that we’re settled in, I feel I have more to give that will help make Sheboygan a little bit better every day.
Who Am I?
If I’m going to ask for your vote, you probably should know who I am.
In my professional life, I run a small real estate team that sells on average 50 houses a year. I have a degree in hospitality from Lakeland and I worked as a hotel manager for almost a decade in Lake Geneva before relocating to Sheboygan.
In my civic life, I was previously elected 3 times as Sheboygan's Alderperson for District 5 and served on the Architectural Review Board, Finance & Personnel, Public Works, Licensing, Hearings, and Public Safety committees. I currently serve on the Zoning Board of Appeals and on the Board of Directors for Camp Anokijig.
At home, I have two boys and a girl with one more on the way, and I’m supported by a dedicated and loving wife. I never had a father growing up, so most of my free time is spent doing activities with the kids around Sheboygan. I want them to have a father they can depend on. on the rare occasions we have a sitter, I love getting up on a horse and riding through the woods, hiking the Kettles, and sailing with my wife.
Why Vote For Me?
Revitalize Our Roads
My focus is on addressing the neglected roads in our neighborhoods for safer, smoother travel.
Inclusive Community Building
I am to foster our community so it works for everyone, regardless of their background
Responsive Development
Future for Our Children
Expanded Transportation
I’ll make sure that the development on the former Aurora site aligns with the neighborhood's desires and needs. (Single Family Homes, Townhomes, or a Park) and our community is doing all it can to bring down the cost of adding housing stock without giving tax dollars as down payment grants.
Both In and out of office my focus is on creating a Sheboygan where our children can grow up with pride and prosperity, to make sure the American Dream isn’t dead in Sheboygan.
Did you know there’s no bus service on Sundays? I’ll be advocating for bus service expansion to include Sundays, enhancing accessibility for all while keeping taxes in check.
